Quality of life underpins our approaches used in the Ocean classes. The need for structure and routine supports the anxieties of the individuals of each class and as such structural supports are evidenced throughout all learning opportunities. Reducing anxiety and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing enables pupils to learn and is therefore key in all we offer.
KALM - KLF Autism Learning Model is a blended methodology of evidenced-based practices supportive of those with a diagnosis of Autism or similar needs. This model allows us to offer supportive learning based on the needs of the learner. Examples of these include PECS, TEACCH, SCERTS, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction, Sensory Integration, Interoception etc. Our dynamic practice is ever evolving to reflect contemporary research in all areas of teaching and learning.
