It's Term 4! Our first theme this term is called 'Blooming Marvelous'. We have already planted peas in pots in the classroom - they have just started to grow! We have also done some beautiful art work using a range of different media. We've done still life water colour paintings of daffodils, painted using flowers, forks and cotton buds, and we've also used chalks to create some different effects. We have begun a new experiment to see if we can change the colour of petals using ink in water - we keep checking back each day using our magnifying glass to see the results.
Check out what we've been up to below:
We hope you all had a great start to the new year and a lovely Christmas. It's term 3 already! The Children have really enjoyed our first theme of Egyptians. We have learnt lots of interesting information and even had a go at wrapping each other up as mummies! We completed a few art projects to create an Egyptian scene and made our own sarcophagus's including clay canopic jars!
Take a look at the photos below:
The next theme after Egyptians was all about the weather. In this theme we went cloud spotting on the playground - we saw 'dragon' clouds and 'elephant' clouds! We then tried to bring the clouds into the Eagles classroom with our cloud in a jar experiment!
During this term the Eagles also took part in a number of activities for children's mental health week. We shared the times when we 'found our brave' and joined in some mindfulness relaxation.

It's Term 2! We had a very exciting start to the term with a trip to the cinema to see Peter Rabbit! All the Eagles had a great time and were very well behaved - we shall definitely be going on more trips out!
For remembrance day Eagles participated in a 2 minute silence and made poppies from card, lollipop sticks and glitter.

Our first theme this term was 'Happy, Healthy, Me'. During this the Eagles looked at healthy eating - even growing our own cress! We also looked at other ways we keep ourselves healthy like exercising, they all enjoyed using the outdoor gym equipment. Our next theme was 'It's Showtime'. Throughout this theme Eagles have been working very hard practicing for our various Christmas performances. It was great to see those who could make it to the Kettering light switch on and to our Christmas concert at school. The highlight of this term has to be our trip to West Lodge Farm! We all had a fantastic day out enjoying meeting the animals, playing in the play barn, taking part in the nativity, seeing the twinkly lights walk through and of course meeting Santa himself!
Please enjoy looking through some more photos from the term:
In our first term the Eagles have done some fab work looking after our school environment helping to clean our outside area and keep up with recycling.
We also had lots of fun discovering about each other from our all about me bags - we then had a go at doing some self portraits using different materials.
As part of our R.E we looked at what Navaratri is and its importance to Hindus. During this we coloured and designed rangoli patterns which are often used to decorate in Hindu celebrations.

In the second part of our term Eagles have had lots of fun looking at sinking and floating in our 'Its not fair' theme which focuses on Science! This has of course involved us doing lots of experiments, making predictions and recording our findings.
In our literacy the Eagles have enjoyed practicing their handing writing using different media like spaghetti and sand!
We are continuing to look after the school environment by taking part in litter picks and are now putting in lots of practice for our Harvest festival - working on our signs to go along with our singing. We hope those of you who are able to come along enjoy it.
We had a Halloween party on the last day of Term. The eagles had the chance to get their face painted, bob for apples, carve oranges and do some spooky colouring.
