Personal Development and RSE

Relationship and Sex Education (RSE)

RSE is a statutory aspect of the curriculum that all pupils will engage with at a suitable level to reflect their current understanding and skills.

Kingsley Learning Foundation Trust has a policy supporting RSE teaching across the two Trust schools (Kingsley Special Academy and Red Kite Special Academy) and as such covers provision for both primary and secondary aged pupils.

The RSE curriculum, alongside our PHSE provision should enable pupils to become healthier, more independent and more responsible members of the wider community, offering skills to live in our diverse and multicultural society. Pupils are encouraged to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school, the wider community, keeping safe and recognising their rights and responsibilities within these settings.

At Kingsley Learning Foundation Trust schools, we strive to provide differentiated, adapted teaching to suit the understanding of our pupils to ensure that learning is reflective of their needs.

The policy found within our designated policy area of the website provides guidance for staff, guardians and others. The policy was open for consultation with stakeholders in March/April 2024. Please address any further queries or comments to bev.williams@kingsley.school.
