Uniform

Uniform

Due to the Special Educational needs and disabilities of the children at Kingsley Special Academy, it is optional for parents to purchase a school uniform for their child.  Children can attend school in comfortable clothing.

The optional school uniform consists of:

Red sweatshirt

Grey or black skirt/trousers/shorts

White or red polo shirt/t-shirt/shirt.

A wide range of Kingsley uniform and additional items can be ordered via our uniform provider at www.myclothing.com.

Please make sure all personal items and clothing are labelled with your child’s name.

To ensure uniform items are accessible for all children, parents can access second-hand uniform items from school.

However, for those parents who choose to purchase a school uniform, as a school, we have a duty to make sure that the uniform parents can choose to buy is affordable, in line with statutory guidance from the Department for Education on the cost of school uniform.

We recognise that branded items cannot be brought from a wide range of retailers which limits parents’ ability to purchase items at a lower price.  Therefore, school will make sure that uniform is available at a reasonable cost and provides the best value for money.

Jewellery

No jewellery should be worn in school for health and safety reasons.

Piercings

Only ear studs are permitted and these must be removed for swimming. Staff are unable to assist children with removal or replacement of studs.

Swimming Kit

Swimming kit consists of a swimming costume and towel (both named). Swim nappies must also be provided for those children who need them.

Children will not swim if they do not have a swimming kit in school.

The school provides swimming aids (armbands/discs) as necessary.

PE Kit

Pupils will require shorts and t-shirt, labelled with your child’s name and in a named PE bag.
