Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum:

Our curriculum gives opportunities to learn through engaging, child-chosen themes, which focus on functional life skills and cognitive development.

Due to the complexities of needs, learners in our Autism specific classes require further support in areas of social understanding, emotional response and sensory supports. Our SELLS (Social, Emotional, Learning and Life Skills) curriculum offers opportunities to develop these skills, ensuring a holistic approach to meeting all of the needs of our learners. SELLS is written following the AET's (Autism Education Trust) progression framework, offering the development of skills in the following 7 areas:

  • Social Communication
  • Social Interaction
  • Social Imagination and Flexibility
  • Emotional Understanding and Self Awareness
  • Learning
  • Sensory Processing
  • Independence and Community Participation
