Kingsley School runs weekly Movement Education groups for pupils with physical difficulties, based on the principals of Conductive Education. Conductive Education, is a holistic system of education for children with motor difficulties which places particular emphasis on physical development, balance and posture, encouraging an active way of life, developing independence, and problem solving.
Importantly, in our sessions, children are taught skills which are needed to enhance their independence and increase their access to everyday life and learning. Whenever possible a member of the class staff supports the child in movement group to ensure that learning is transferred back to the classroom and daily living. These groups are led by an experienced practitioner, who consults with the physio and occupational therapist.
Movement Education sessions allow children to learn skills needed for daily living in a fun and successful environment!
